Seasick Steve – Things Go Up

Phoemail asked:

Seasick Steve singing “Things Go Up” from his album “Dog House Blues”, live at the MAC (Midlands Art Centre), Birmingham, on the 2nd of June 2007.

Watch out for Steve getting into the audience and terrorizing those who don’t sit sing along..

basic riff seems to be DGEDD. Just a quick bodge on first listening with me baritone uke. So, standard guitar tuning is close enough.

well yeah it is delta blues, but to say that it is blues isn’t saying anything wrong, it’s just less specific.

Music theory or not: genre, for me, is a bore :)

I’m studying music theory and it sucks to see people typing in the wrong genra. It’s like a math teacher telling an English how to write but you do have a point where it’s damn good music though.

Who cares what genre it is? Only two kinds of music in my opinion: Good music and bad music.
This is obviously the former.

A True musician.

I love how rough and raw his music is. Loves his fans. It’s rare you see someone so determined to give a good show and be so involved with the audience.
