I do not agree with that. In my oppinion, Seasick Steve is fantastic live AND on the Dog House Music album.

It’s a real shame, but his studio material really falls short of capturing the magic of his live performances. When first heard Dog House Boogie on Jools Holland, I immediately downloaded the studio version – and immediately wished the live version was commercially available. This song is just the same – pure genius live, nowhere near as good on the Dog House Music album.

Pretty much, Santana, Frank Zappa, Jimi Hendrix, were all influenced by blues artists and Steve Vai got influenced by Zappa. Eric Clapton needs to be mentioned for obvious reasons ;)
